Namuun Clifford is a PhD candidate in Nursing at The University of Texas at Austin and a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 14 years of clinical experience, including five years providing telehealth primary care across multiple states. Her experience delivering virtual care during the COVID-19 pandemic inspired her commitment to advancing digital health equity and chronic disease prevention. Namuun’s research focuses on leveraging digital health and informatics to identify drivers of chronic disease risk and outcomes and to inform equitable, technology-enabled strategies for early prevention and intervention. Her dissertation examines how social, digital, and physical environments shape engagement with digital tools and how it impacts their health among adults with heart failure. She also collaborates with UCSF’s IgNITE Lab to analyze digital engagement and disparities in diabetes care. Beyond research, Namuun co-founded the Longhorn Nightingale Network, a peer mentorship program for Nursing PhD students at UT Austin, and the Mongolian American Health Institute, a national nonprofit advancing health equity among Mongolian communities in the U.S.

Research Interests: Investigating how digital health and informatics can be leveraged to identify drivers of chronic disease risk and outcomes and inform equitable, technology-enabled strategies for early prevention and intervention.
