Hannah Decker, MD (VA Scholar)

Dr. Hannah Decker is currently a general surgery resident with the UCSF Department of Surgery. She completed her undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, where she majored in history with a focus on colonialism and nationalism. After school, she worked as an investment associate at a large hedge fund researching global macroeconomic trends. Following this, she completed her medical school education at Emory University School of Medicine, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society.

Research Interests: Improving the surgical care of vulnerable populations, including patients who experience trauma, racial and ethnic minorities, and unhoused patients. Her research interest is to combine qualitative analysis, human centered-design, and quality improvement approaches to rigorously study and design solutions for inequities in access to high quality surgical care.
