Karthik Rohatgi, MD

Dr. Karthik Rohatgi is an internal medicine-trained primary care physician with a strong passion for population health equity. He grew up in five different states, but feels most at home in central New Jersey and Reno, Nevada. Karthik completed his undergraduate training at Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated summa cum laude, and he received his M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine in 2022. Throughout his training, he worked on a variety of health equity-related issues, including access to nutritious food, community green space, affordable medications and lung cancer screening. During his time in the National Clinician Scholars Program, he hopes to explore how healthcare systems can best improve access to health-related social needs and thereby promote equity. Other areas of interest include optimizing care for vulnerable populations, especially refugees and justice-involved individuals, and health equity education for clinicians. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, bicycling, hiking, and playing board games (especially cooperative ones!).

Research Interests: Optimizing interventions to address health-related social needs within the healthcare setting, and developing care models for patients with complex medical and social needs.
