
Veronica Yank, MD
Dr. Yank is a general internist and primary care physician based at the UCSF Mt. Zion General Internal Medicine Clinic. She is PI on multiple NIH-funded grants supporting research on Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and family caregiving. Her research focuses on the development, assessment and implementation of best practice care for preventing and managing chronic conditions, particularly those associated with heavy family caregiver burden, health disparities, and elevated cardiovascular disease risk. An expert in patient behavior change and self-management support, digital technology interventions, and effective translation of evidence into practice, Dr. Yank collaborates with experts in physical activity, nutrition, geriatrics, clinical psychology, health systems operations, public health and rural health, medical anthropology, biostatistics, and implementation sciences. In the Primary Care Research Fellowship, Dr. Yank serves as the site director and career mentor for the General Internal Medicine fellows in the fellowship based at UCSF Mt. Zion and coordinates the career mentorship for the fellows. She participates and teaches in the weekly Works-In-Progress seminars and serves on the fellowship selection committee.
