Lindsey Scheller is a PhD graduate from the University of California, San Francisco. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Seattle University and began her clinical training at Seattle Children’s Hospital on the craniofacial and pulmonary unit. Lindsey’s experience as a pediatric nurse caring for children with complex medical needs and advanced airways has profoundly shaped her research interests. Lindsey’s research focuses on investigating health inequities and identifying policies and nurse-led interventions that ensure successful transitioning for children with complex medical needs to the home environment. Her dissertation examined how neighborhood-level social determinants of health influence institutionalization and time to readmission among children requiring long-term mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy.
Research Interests: Investigating how multi-level structural drivers influence health inequities in hospital and community settings among children with complex medical needs and chronic conditions.
