
Krista Harrison, PhD
Dr. Harrison is a health policy, ethics, and health services researcher; an Associate Professor in the Division of Geriatrics and the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies (IHPS) within the UCSF Department of Medicine; and an Atlantic Senior Fellow for Equity and Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute. Before joining faculty at UCSF, Dr. Harrison evaluated national policies and programs at Mathematica Policy Research and led the research and education programs at a large nonprofit hospice. Her current work aims to improve systems of care for older adults with dementia and other serious illnesses who live in home- and community-based settings by transforming clinical practice, health systems, and health policy. Her expertise includes qualitative and quantitative research methods, health policy ethics, and implementation science. She serves as IHPS Associate Director of Training, Program Director of the AHRQ T32 Health Policy Fellowship, Co-Director of the Claude D. Pepper Older American Independence Center Vulnerable Aging Research Core, Associate Director of the NIA T32 Aging Research Program, and faculty in the UCSF National Clinical Scholars Program.
