Christina Mangurian, MD, MAS
Dr. Mangurian is Professor and Vice Chair for Diversity and Health Equity in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Weill Institute for Neurosciences. Dr. Mangurian’s NIH-funded health services research program focuses on the integration of care, with a particular focus on reducing healthcare disparities among racially/ethnically diverse populations with severe mental illness. Outside of her NIH-funded research, Dr. Mangurian actively works to further the advancement of women and minorities within medicine and has conducted several studies related to workforce policies in an effort to promote workforce retention. Dr. Mangurian’s work has been published widely, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and the American Journal of Psychiatry. She is a prior recipient of the 2017 UCSF Chancellor’s Award for the Advancement of Women and the 2018 UCSF Distinction in Mentoring Award. She also holds a secondary appointment in the UCSF Department of Epidemiology, is core faculty in the UCSF Center for Vulnerable Populations, and is an affiliate faculty member in the UCSF Institute for Health Policy Studies.
